Seeking strength & resolve

We unjustly tend to overlook the contextual beauty of the Qur'an Immensely. Taking into account when certain Aayaat ('verses') were revealed during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gives new life and depth to Aayaat that we may have otherwise given little thought to. A beautiful example of this phenomenon of historical context is in Surah Ankabut. Looking at the timing of revelation sheds a profound new light to it. The horrors afflicting our brothers and sisters across the world, such as the Rohingya, the Syrians, the Yemenis, and others, are no secret to the users of social media. Although worthy coverage is not given on mainstream news channels or newspapers, through the viral nature of social media we have access to personal videos and first-hand accounts of the gruesome reality afflicting these people. They are experiencing horrors that we could never imagine, yet their faith puts us to shame. As-Suffa Food Bank | Our First Year

Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah Azzawajjal the As-Suffa Food Bank Project has reached its first year this month and we pray there are many more years to come insha’Allah! The As-Suffa Food Bank Project is a response and extension of the As-Suffa Homeless Project that was initiated in 2011.  The main objective of this project is to provide assistance to the most vulnerable in the community, irrespective of their race, religion or background, primarily through the distribution of food parcels. At the As-Suffa Food Bank we have served 179 service users to date, utilising our 26 external referral agencies
